Be a part of the 31st International Coastal Cleanup Day! CCD is a local and international event held every September to clean our beaches and waterways. In 2015, volunteers picked up 6,000 pounds of trash in Santa Barbara County that would have otherwise ended up in our ocean. Please join us again this year to make 2016 an even bigger year!
We encourage volunteers to BYOB "Bring Your Own Bucket," and cleanup supplies, as well as sunscreen and reusable water bottles. There will be supplies provided for those that are unable to bring their own.
The Lompoc site is Jalama Beach. Volunteers may park for free in the lot from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. by displaying/presenting a volunteer Coastal Cleanup Day parking pass, which may be obtained from the beach captain. The beach captain will be on site the day of the event to check-in volunteers, hand out parking passes and clean up supplies, and to keep track of how much trash is collected. Please contact the beach captain at chelsea@lompoc.com or by phone at 805.736.4567 x223 with any questions.
You may register online here, but it is not required to do so (scroll down to find Jalama Beach): http://signup.com/go/JXUx1B
